Eye Surgeons Associates Announces LASIK Contest Winner and Sets NEW Contest System Record
Congratulations to Andi Van Winkle of Davenport, IA she won a FREE LASIK in our Gift of Sight Contest for her “Call 911…my eyes need help!” essay. She was chosen from 216 essays based on number of votes and our judges input. She will receive LASIK surgery with Dr. Richard Phinney, a top 5 LASIK surgeon, in November of 2009. Congratulations also go to Brooke Fischer, who was runner up and will receive 50% off LASIK.
Eye Surgeons Associates located in the quad cities of Illinois and Iowa recently engaged in the GLACIAL LASIK contest system. Julie Berntgen, marketing director for Eye Surgeons Associates was the contest administrator and organized the entire radio portion of the contest. The radio station selected was 97X and they spread the word like champions. This integrated model of radio marketing mixed with web contests works amazingly well and generates plenty of surgery interest and branding exposure.
Julie opted to use the ESSAY model instead of the photo uploader or video uploader to make things easy. The video module requires that a patient shoot, edit and compress videos and drastically reduces the base of potential entrants. In the end the appropriate decision was made because over 216 people participated in this contest. “Out of over 15 contests run so far using this model this was the highest number second to the “Beautiful Eyes Contest” run by Chesapeake Eye Care in 2007.” says Onur Birsen CTO of Glacial Multimedia, Inc. After running 15 of these contests we have some specific things that we now can do that work well.
